Our product and technology solutions extend from solar charging, high-efficiency lighting, low energy appliances and smartphone based field tools, through to end-to-end network solutions, mobile communications and payment processing, backend server infrastructure and cloud-based analytical tools which support delivery of the Pay-As-You-Go service.
With a total market of 600 million in Sub-Saharan Africa, the strategic expansion of our product range beyond lighting and mobile phone charging, coupled with the growth of the business is creating new opportunities within our development team in Cambridge.

About the role:
Azuri continues to extend its backend solution and infrastructure to provide a dependable PayGo service, which supports end-users, distribution partners, and Azuri across multiple Sub-Saharan countries. Some of Azuri’s systems include the end-user and distribution management system, mobile payment systems, business and distributor information systems, and many others.
As a full stack developer, you will be helping to shape these solutions and drive Azuri’s business further.
Key elements of the role include:
Carry out functional development and testing, from requirements, capture through to validation and release, following defined coding standards and methodologies.
Support delivery of a robust end-to-end network infrastructure and server architecture which supports scaling of the business to in excess of 1M customers and ensures a high level of service availability.
In conjunction with other members of the Azuri team, analyse and define the requirements for supporting Operations, Distribution Management, Logistics, Mobile Payment, Business Management and other needs of the business.
Maintain appropriate support documentation.
Graduate Engineer in Software Engineering
Good understanding of fundamental principles of Object Oriented Programming
Good understanding of relational database concepts
Demonstrate the capability to rapidly grasp the basics of new tools and processes.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Strong written and oral communication skills
Java Spring Framework
Stored Procedure Programming in MySQL and MySQL database management
Mercurial Source Control
Debian Linux system use and administration
Understanding of Test Driven Development, the ability to write tests, documentation, and understand the importance of ease of maintenance of programs.
Passionate about keeping up to date with emerging technologies, languages and practices.
Occasional trips to Sub-Saharan Africa may be required.
The successful candidate must be a motivated team player with a demonstrated ability to rise to the challenges in a dynamic and rapidly evolving work environment, tempered with the maturity to create quality products.
